Dave Morsberger Memorial Foundation

The Story

In October 2019, McClure Company lost Dave Morsberger, AKA “Moose,” as he passed suddenly and unexpectedly. Dave was a nearly thirty year veteran of McClure, a wonderful man, and a great and versatile company asset. He was a good friend to many and a big part of the everyday fabric of McClure Company.

Dave joined McClure in 1992 as a project manager, and was connected to Bill McClure through his high school pal and Pitt-Johnstown roommate Todd Ray. Dave ran a large project at the time in Chambersburg, and he’d always remember and laugh at Bill McClure putting him on probation for it! Things worked out, and through the rest of the 1990’s he went on to run all of the work in Marietta for Wyeth Labs. Dave was the Project Manager for more than $130 million of work through more than 500 job numbers.

He took over McClure’s Service Department in 2001 and when GSK bought the mothballed Wyeth facility in 2004, was reassigned again – to get back to Marietta! McClure won the work there and re-mobilized, and Dave maintained that account responsibility there to his last day at McClure.

In 2012, he moved to Director of Business Development. His institutional knowledge of the company and his engaging personality made him a natural fit. Dave still ran some major projects when needed, even in that role.

These are some of the highlights of what Dave did at McClure, and it was a lot. But who he was is really the bigger story. There was a phrase used at his services that says it all – “he was a collector of friends.” His ever optimistic, upbeat, service oriented, can-do attitude is surely missed. As the expression on his memorial wristbands say, Dave was “The man with the biggest heart.”

The Dave Morsberger Memorial Foundation was established in the days after his passing in many discussions with Dave’s wife, Pam. Pam knew Dave would love the idea of this initiative to help families in need.
