McClure Company served as Design Assist trade partner for all mechanical and plumbing systems during construction of this 341,000 SF, greenfield hospital in Lancaster, PA. Along with the Barton Malow Alexander Joint Venture team and other trade partners, McClure Company worked safely throughout the COVID pandemic to keep construction of the hospital on schedule.

Located near the intersection of State Road and Harrisburg Pike in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster Medical Center gives residents expanded access to Penn State Health’s primary, specialty and acute care, as well as the advanced care available at Penn State Health’s academic hub in Hershey. The six-story hospital includes 132 inpatient beds, an emergency department, various specialty inpatient services, including a cardiac catheterization lab, labor and delivery and complete medical and surgical capabilities. It has an attached medical office building for physician practices and outpatient services, which was also included in McClure’s scope of work.

McClure Company installed the first piping and ductwork in late 2020, and the hospital opened its doors to patients in October 2022. Construction of the medical office building is slated for completion in early 2023.
