Campus Square | Urban Geothermal Wellfield

In the heart of midtown Harrisburg, PA, this four-story building provides retail, meeting, and classroom spaces for Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC). This LEED Gold certified building exemplifies sustainable construction and urban revitalization at its best. During construction, McClure installed geothermal HVAC systems, which reduced energy costs and eliminated the need for extensive mechanical rooms and rooftop equipment.

Project Highlights:

• 4-story new construction of urban multi-tenant facility
• LEED consulting, engineering, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems
• (47) 400-ft. deep wells installed beneath the building routed directly to the mechanical room
• 15 ft. spacing between wells due to site restrictions (20 ft. is typical)
• Water source heat pumps and Energy Recovery Ventilators
• Fluid Cooler added for summer peak load shaving
