Steelton-Highspire School District

Steelton-Highspire School District, located in Dauphin County, PA partnered with McClure Company to install a 1.7MW DC Solar PV System serving 100% of the District energy demands -Administration Offices, the Jr./Sr. High School and the Elementary School. This ballasted ground array, is generating approximately 2.0 gWh per year, creating a net zero environment for the District. Over the 13-year Power Purchase Agreement, the District is expected to save over $3.6MM.

The Steelton-Highspire solar array is also a beneficial reuse of unbuildable lands, as the array is constructed on a closed landfill from recovered debris from the catastrophic flooding related to the 1972 Agnes Hurricane.
