West Perry School District

West Perry School District had developed a facility renovation plan with the intent to renovate three of its schools. After renovating the first school through a traditional design-bid-build process – which proved to be rife with change orders and schedule extensions – the district decided that it was time to change its approach and reduce risk for the next project.

The district looked at procuring the work through a Guaranteed Energy Savings Agreement, and after a competitive selection process, chose to partner with McClure Company. McClure Company quickly collaborated with the district to determine needs and upgrades for Carroll Elementary School. The renovation work was completed in a single summer. The project was so successful that the district decided to partner with McClure Company for another phase, to complete major renovations at West Perry High School. While the process was the same, the high school project was twice the size as the elementary project and was also completed in one summer.
